How Long Does It Take? ⏱️
We'll be brutally honest with you — here's what to expect at every stage, no sugarcoating.
📋 TL;DR
Most UK ETAs are processed within 3 working days. Our team reviews your details within hours of submission. We recommend starting at least 72 hours before you travel. Don't leave it to the last minute!
The Full Timeline — Stage by Stage
Your Submission
5-10 minutesFill in your details on our site. Most people finish in under 10 minutes. That's less time than waiting for a decent coffee.
Our Review
Within hoursOnce you submit, our team gets to work. We double-check every detail — passport numbers, dates, spelling — to make sure everything's 100% before forwarding.
Forwarded to Authorities
Same day (typically)After our review, we send your details to the UK authorities. This usually happens on the same day you submit — unless we spot something that needs fixing first.
Authority Processing
Up to 3 working daysThis is the part we can't control. The UK authorities review your details and make a decision. Most come through within 3 working days, but it can vary.
Decision & Notification
Instant emailAs soon as there's a decision, you'll get an email from us. Approved? Your ETA is linked to your passport — you're good to go!
What Could Slow Things Down? 🐢
We're all about honesty, so here are the things that can cause delays:
⚠️ Incomplete or incorrect details
💡 This is the #1 cause. That's why our team checks everything before forwarding.
⚠️ Blurry or poor-quality documents
💡 Use good lighting and make sure your passport photo page is clearly readable.
⚠️ Peak travel seasons
💡 Summer holidays, Christmas, and school breaks mean higher volumes. Start early during these periods.
⚠️ Additional checks by the authorities
💡 Sometimes the authorities need more time. This is rare and out of our control, but we'll keep you updated.
⚠️ Not responding to follow-up requests
💡 If we need something from you (like a clearer photo), respond ASAP. Every hour counts!
When Should You Start? 📅
2+ weeks before
Maximum breathing room. Zero stress. Highly recommended.
1 week before
Plenty of time for processing and any unexpected follow-ups.
72 hours before
Cutting it close, but usually enough. Not for the faint-hearted!
Processing times are based on typical timelines and may vary. We have no control over the UK authorities' processing speed. We always recommend leaving enough buffer time before your travel date.
We've been there — don't book non-refundable flights before your ETA comes through. Always get your ETA sorted first, then book everything else. Trust us on this one.
The secret? Submit on a weekday morning. The system tends to be faster when it's not the weekend rush. Learn from our mistakes! ⚡
